Who we are
Welcome to INKD, we’re so happy you clicked on us!
Let me introduce us, we are Katie and Lisa, we’re both Permanent Makeup Artists, Aesthetic Practitioners, Educators and mums. (Lisa on the left, Katie on the right)
We met on our very first microblading course in 2019 and have remained friends, and now business partners, ever since! We’re both incredibly passionate about PMU and this is the reason why we train others, we believe that standards in training are fairly poor and we’re here to change that!
Having been on numerous poor quality courses, and knowing the disappointment and the struggle that follows, we make it our mission to provide training that is ethical, fit for purpose, inclusive and suitable for all abilities.
Both of us have built our businesses around our family lives, between us we have 6 children and chose PMU to give us the flexibility to work when we can whilst also providing a good income, we’ve both been fully self employed for 5 years now!
We provide aftercare that is second to none, and we will always be your cheerleader.

How our courses work!
It all begins with online learning. Before you even meet us you will start your training. Then you will attend up to 9 face to face training days where we’ll cover the most important theory work, then the most exciting part - practical work. You’ll see live demonstrations and get to work on numerous models with our support! Choosing the right training provider will make all the difference!
How you’ll learn
When you enrol on to one of our courses you will be added to our online learning portal, you will have access to a wealth of knowledge from health and safety, licensing, sharps disposal to the inner workings of the skin, what exactly is in pigments, and in depth explanations of how the treatments work. You will have access to this portal for 12 months to refer back to if you need.
Then comes your face to face learning where you will join us in our specially designed academy. You will spend intense but enjoyable days with us covering everything you need to know about your chosen subject. We cover the most important parts about the theory work you’ve learnt online and then explore technique on fake skins. We keep our student-tutor ratio at 121 or 221 so you will always have enough support and attention.
On model days you will see tutor demos up close, we don’t gate keep and you’ll see absolutely everything that we do, use and don’t do. When you come to work on your own models you will be fully supported, students take their first steps onto skin only when it’s safe - we will work with you 121 to ensure you feel confident, comfortable and hold your hand for as long as you need us (but with our teaching methods its not normally that long!!)
FAQs
I have no experience in beauty, does that matter?
No, absolutely not. Both of us at INKD come from very different backgrounds. Katie healthcare and Lisa childcare. We were both beginners into a very competitive industry and can guide you in this situation.
Can I get insurance with your courses?
Yes - all of our courses are fully accredited and insurable. We chose ABT as our accreditor because of their high standards and because of this most insurers will recognise our courses.
Are case studies required?
Yes we do require a minimum of 3 case studies per technique, this is to ensure that you are working safely and so we can provide constructive feedback to help you succeed.
What if I struggle?
When learning any new technique it can be difficult, we try to make our courses as simple to follow as possible to alleviate as many difficulties as possible, however we do have some students that need extra care and attention. If this happens we will invite you back to spend extra time with us, you will have homework and you’ll be added to a whatsapp group full of our students that will support and help you. You’re never alone if you train at INKD.
